I'm psyched out.

I used to have this beautiful, wintery comforter I'd gotten on sale at Target.... it was flannel on both sides; one side was pale mint green with tiny moose silhouettes and snowflakes, the other was the same but with dark forest green and a strip at the bottom that had large moose figures and snowflakes on it, with little evergreen trees beneath that. Well I thought it was gone. I couldn't find it for about two years, and I figured Dad had gotten rid of it because the cat had thrown up on it once..... I knew it could've been cleaned easily, and I swore I remembered doing so. Also, Dad denied remembering having thrown it away or anything like that. So then. Where WAS it?! I'd given up on it about a year ago and had held it against Dad ever since then.

Until last night. I opened the closet door to put some boxes away, and...there it was. My beautiful, warm, cozy moose comforter. I couldn't contain myself and ended up squeaking and hugging it. Then I ran into Dad's room with it, all out of breath and saying, "OMG. OMG!! Where was it?!?!?!!!" Apparently he had gone through the closet a little bit to make room for the box our new Christmas tree is in, and he found it at the bottom of a large box. I asked why the heck it was in there, and he said I'd told him to put it away. I don't remember ever telling him that... maybe I asked him to store it up on the shelf in the closet, but never at the bottom of a huge box where I wouldn't be able to find it for over two years!!

Anyway... I've got it back and I'm totally stoked about it. It had a bit of old cat hair and pilled dust balls on it, but nothing a good wash couldn't fix.

That's one mug of hot chocolate and a viewing of "Bastogne" away from perfection! :o)

I had a similar experience this weekend. A lost one foot of my fave pair of socks about two months ago when my Mom came for a visit. It got lost in the shuffle of her suitcases and I was afraid that it got mushed with her clothing and was all the way in Jamaica, far far away from its brother sock. Well, after cleaning my room (properly), I found it tucked under a Sears catalogue and jumped for joy. Finally the brothers socks are united and I can't wait to wear them together tomorrow. Um, I'd post a picture but they're both shy. They're black with grey and white diamonds on the top.

Oh don't you HATE THAT?? I've lost many a sock that way. Luckily, it wasn't a favorite pair of socks, though. And then you find it in the silliest place!! Well I'm stoked that you found it. You may now wear the brothers together.

Isn't it gorgeous? I got the whole set on asle at Target YEARS ago, and never seen it since. I couldn't find it online either, which is why I was so upset when I'd thought I had lost it. But YAY that I didn't!! :D!!!
