Clutter...junk...crap.....bulging closets and inboxes...
03.31.06 (3:12 am)   [edit]
Do ya ever just get completely overwhelmed with email and have no idea what to do about it? It's been that way for me for at least 2 years. I'm so backed up and owe so many people emails, but it seems so daunting. So I tend to run from the fact, but the longer I wait, the worse it gets. Many times, I've comtemplated just deleting most of it and starting anew, but then I start reading a few of them and think, "No, better save that one... ohhh...better save that one too...", and that keeps going on until I've only managed to delete a grand total of 3, out of 200. Then I start to get annoyed when people ask me where I've been in the groups, or why I haven't emailed them in the past two days. Gosh, gimme a chance! I've all but stopped posting in the Yahoo groups any more. There's about 5, tops, that I'm still active in (I think I'm a member of about 95)...

*siiiiiiigh* It'll never end. And my recent DSL problems have only made matters worse. Gosh, we quit Comcast's cable to escape from this crap! I think I've finally fixed the problem, though. I sure hope so, anyway. It seems we've been cursed with connection problems since the day we got the danged computer. Curséd be the connections! That sounded strangely poetic...

Back to the previous subject, I guess I'll have to start "spring cleaning" my inbox. I should do so with the comupter itself also, as well as my HUGE folder of favorite links - I haven't categorized those in Lord knows how long and the main folder is getting....unmanagable. Oh gosh, I'll have to actually start writing emails too. It's the worst when I get LONG emails, I tend to wait even longer for those. It's weird, Tree said something like this once and I felt the same way. The longer you wait to reply to a person's email... the more you seem to like them. Yeah I know it's weird, but it's the truth!

And I tell you, it's not like this only with the computer/email, either. Sometimes (usually whilst PMSing, which I'm probably doing right now), I get so frusterated with the sheer amount of stuff in this house that I just wanna get rid of everything. Then I get all emotional because I know it's impossible. Whenever I go through my room, even though I know I could probably throw away half the stuff in my closet, I just can't do it. Then, I get flustered and almost start to cry, (I know that doesn't quite sound like me - allow me to reiterate that it only happens whilst PMSing!! I have no control, I swear. Otherwise I rarely cry. ...Hey shuttup! I have an image to maintain, here!!), because I don't know where to start.

Oh, the trials of life. LOL.
This will pass once the PMS passes. And, once again, the bulging closets, over-flowing inbox, and stuffed computer folders will no longer bother me.

...until next month.

You should watch that show (which might not be on the air any more, now that I think about it) called "Clean Sweep". The main "cleaner" guy made people take all of their stuff and arrange it on the lawn. When they saw the sheer amount of CRAP they had, he made them go through it, and helped them to do so. Usually, they were only keeping things because of emotional attachment, and not because they needed it. He then showed them that they'd always have the memory, but didn't need the object cluttering their lives. You should've seen the places once they cleared out the crap and were redecorated. It's like they turned over a new leaf; the weight was lifted; whatever other analogy fits here... you get me. :o) I think you and Paddy need that!

Clean Sweep is still on, at least in reruns. Love the new guitar!

It's not that we want the clutter gone (as long as it's organized clutter) or to be redecorated though, we love it the way it is, we're just running out of space for the nesessities. If only our closets were bigger, a HUGE weight would be lifted :o/ I know we could free up a LOT of space if we got rid of some of Mom's stuff, but.. it's really hard to do, and I don't want to do that. Not yet anyway, I just can't. When we move, there'd better be HUGE CLOSETS and tons of wall-space ;D

I was actually going to, but I went with the red Strat because it looked best with the wings!! Plus, Rickey plays slide on one similar to it!

Ohh... you mean TWO of my boys! I love Donnie too! And thanks a ton for that Rickey link, I'll definitely have to post that in his group! I don't think I've seen it before, but I'll have to doublecheck to make sure I'm not re-posting it.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you on that, my computer crashed and we got a new one (I'm writing a new blog about that right now) and was offline for a long time. If you could copy the RRHOF for me, I'd be SO grateful!! I only saw the second half and was really depressed that I missed seeing Rickey (except for the end, with Free Bird). I know it was aired once or twice after that, but I wasn't able to catch those either, and my VCR won't record the satellite picture so I couldn't set it :o(
