Suchomimus
03.21.06 (5:00 pm)   [edit]
New Photoshop-tracing! He's a Suchomimus, related to Baryonyx and the largest predator ever, Spinosaurus. Suchomimus and Baryonyx were probably mainly fish-eaters (hence the strange jaws and teeth) and had claws up to 15 inches in length (measured on the outer curve of the claw). I remember reading about Suchomimus in the paper when it was first found, and I remembered this awesome painting being with the story, so I searched around online until I found it. I got the original photo here, on a page with a lovely article about the discovery of Suchomimus.

I dont have much to say about the Suchomimus but I am about as angry as he probably is(wherever that he may be in his extinction!)I just caught the Rock and Roll hall of fame show for the first time on the one of many re-broadcasts being shown this week.On one of Lynyrd Skynyrd's most important nights of thier career's.A night when they are bestowed with such a genuine top honor! And when it came to one of the most important guitar leads written for Freebird by Allen Collins that is now being played by Rickey Medlocke,IT COULD NOT BE HEARD!!!He was turned down so low you could'nt hear one of the best leads(at least re-created to the best of Rickey's ability)that has ever been created!!!What the heck happened their???I was really into the way they tried to stick to the original classic live version with some of the original players as well.I was so dissapointed when it came to Allen's classic lead and you could barely hear it!!!Again I ask you...What the heck went wrong with that?I'm really tryin not to be negative and all in all it was a great night dedicated finally to the worlds greatest southern rock band who has been so deserving of it since 1998.It was great to have Ronnie, ALLEN, Steve, Ed, Gary, Leon, Artimus, Bob and Billy inducted!!!!And all other members and family present as well. You all know what a friendly positive caring sharing loving guy I am but,And I hope a little negetivity does not offend any of ya'll,BUT,Is anybody as pissed about the disrespect(At least you Missy!)givin to Allen's legendary American lead anthem on such an important night of night's?If I am way out of line, tell me why.If you think I am wrong,Tell me why.If there was a reason it was done,Tell me why.If anybody has heard of some type of technical difficulty that just could not be helped or fixed and was a total accident oract of God.Fill me in! Give me the info man.PLEASE!!I gotta know how this could of or why it happened.YES,I am that fanatical when it comes to Allen and his memory. If ya flat out think I need to get a life,.That's your opinion too.....Tell me so....I'm tryin to stay within the positivity guidlines and all but come on man...Some things just ain't right! xoxoxo.... hugs and kisses. *OK now, *one two, *you know what to do!! Go for it die hard southern rock brothers and sisters.Let your voices be heard. Peace and Love Always........God Bless you All.......Michael

Hi Mal,...No nothing wrong with any of our tv's. We had 3 of em going at the same time around the house and you could only hear Rickey's lead (Allen's Parts)so very faintly during freebird, almost not at all.I could hear Ed and Gary fine.It was a great show!I just wish they would have turned Rickey up a bit.Maybe it sounded better there live?Oh well.Let's check it out again. It's on for the next few days....P and L.....GB.....Michael

Well shucks! Maybe I just didn't notice it. I'll be taping it in the morning so I'll see then. It probably did sound better live. I thought all the boys looked great, it was awesome to see Ed King on stage with them. They sounded awesome, maybe they'll patch things up after this?

Hi Mal...Yep...Its for sure.Like 90% of the people I spoke with heard it too.You will too next time I'm sure. And yes It was nice to see Ed King as well as Bob Burns, Artimus Pyle, JoJo Billingsly, Leslie Hawkins, Donnie VanZant, Judy Jenness(VanZant-Grondin), Teresa Gaines, Ronnie's kids, Allen's kids and all the rest of the family and friends. It didn't think so much friends and family were going to be there.I knew who all was being inducted,so I knew they would be there(Gary,Ed,Billy,Artimus and Bob)But did not expect such a great turn out of family and friends... it was great!.I also thought it nice of Judy to mention Tom Dowd.

Well, shucks! I was gonna record it today but am having problems with my VCR darnit. I have to have the TV set on "video 1" in order for the VCR to work, but I must have it set on "colorstream 1" for the satellite to work. I can't do both so I don't know what to do. I tried just keeping it on "colorstream 1" and did a test recording, but the VCR just taped blankness. I'll have to fiddle with it tonight - there's only two more airings of the RRHOF and I have to get one of them! Skynyrd's part anyway, they're on just after the first hour, no?

I remember Jeff Carisi, isn't he in another band at the moment?
I loved seeing Bob Burns on the bongos, his hair was going all over the place, hilarious!

Ed King said it looked like Bob Burns Ironed his hair or something. Here is his quote exactly... "Couldn't quite figure out Bob Burns' hair! Looked like he'd IRONED IT. But I have to tell you, he
nailed the feel to SWEET HOME ALABAMA. I don't think I've felt it that good in a long, long, long time. When that song feels right, it's all good. Thanks, BOB!" I dont think Jeff Carlisi has anything that pertinant going on at the moment that would warrant him to turn down Skynyrd if they were to ask him if he wanted the job! P and L.....GB.....Michael

Yes, um, bringing the convo back to Suchomimus - it does sound like someone's saying "suck your mama's". Just clarifying.
