I just sent A.E. a very long email about this but I had to post it here too..... omg. Okay, so here's the thing. I usually search eBay for "medlocke" almost every day just to see if anything new pops up. I just did so, and all the usual stuff appeared, and then..... it happened. I found this HAWT picture of T3H RIKAY HAWTNAS from I believe 1993, or 1994. So he's about 44 here. I know this because it was taken the same day as the photo on the back of his 1994 album, After the Reign.

And he's... barefoot.

It's funny I found this now, because just this afternoon (for the first time??), I asked myself, "Why don't I have any pictures of Rickey in here?"  I have two of Johnny and Donnie, one of the current Lynyrd Skynyrd, and a collage of the original band. But none of Rickey - what the crap?? I know I could just print out a picture of him (one of the hundreds, no wait, thousands that I already have), but my printer is acting up (I swear this thing is possessed), and besides that, I've never seen this picture before and I really, really like it. Below is actually a picture of the picture and isn't that great quality, but.....yeah. So here I am at 2AM drooling over Rickey whilst eating Cheez-its (the two don't mix very well) and I'm about to pee in my pants (I've been holding it for over an hour) so I'd better cut this short, or I could go on about Rick for hooooooooours.....

barefoot...

I have!! Have you ever seen this, it's a cute page, at the bottom it says they'll be adding a complete biography of them in the future, but it's said that for a while. Hope they don't forget!

I once went to a display of a travelling history of music from Florida. It stopped in Miami. It was mostly displayed around the state at learning institutions. When I saw it,it was on display for like 6 weeks at Miami dade college downtown campus,One of the displays was of Shorty. But also included like a 50-75 others too!It was great. My favs ofcoarse was all the southern rock stuff. And they had em all!If they were from Florida,Famous, and in the music biz, they had a display. It was great! They didnt leave anybody out. Some I didnt even know were Floridians.Like Steven Stills, some old surf bands,Tom Petty, soul bands, disco bands, producers,DJ's,enginneers, and on and on.Hope it comes to town again some time.It was like a museum and had great displays enclosed with all this great rare collectors items that I think were mostly on loan from the owners and collectors. They had the actual piano that was used in the song Layla by Derek and the Dominoes(a band that included Eric Clapton and Duane Allman)That was recorded in criteria studios in Miami and produced by Tom Dowd who at that same studio recorded some albums for Skynyrd,Allmans and lots of other southern rockers,Plus all diff kinds of rock, soul, disco on and on.Very famous studio.I believe Tom produced Gimme Back my Bullets and Street Survivors there. The studio was in north Miami. In this museum they even had a guitar with the original paperwork that Danny Joe Brown had to fill out at pawn shop for a few bucks! It was an acoustic ovation guitar and I think they gave him 75 bucks or 125 bucks?Cant quite remember,I know that at that time it was probably about 3-400 if you were to but it new,Pawn shops dont pay to well.Tell ya more aboutsome of this event and that studio another time. But I'm sure you already knew some of this. Thanks for letting me ramble! It keeps it fresh to talk about it.The best way to remember and keep it is to tell some one and give it away.So thanx once again.it's a pleasure for me.P and L......GB......Michael
