Lovely dream
02.27.06 (11:54 pm)   [edit]

I had a lovely dream this morning..........Donnie Van Zant was our neighbor (don't hyperventilate yet, Abby!!). I can't remember the entire dream, but it was all really complicated and I don't know what the first half was about. I remember that our friend Tom called up and left a message about water bottles being on sale at Costco or something. Then Dad ordered a "pump" for the lawnmower or something (I know it makes no sense) and some guy in a MONSTER TRUCK delivered it (and somehow he parked this MONSTER right in front of our door. I mean literally, we opened the front door and the thing's tires were right there. He almost hit our SUV and Dad was upset at the guy but paid him and made him leave).

Anyway... Apparently, Donnie lived just two doors to the north of us (and I'd never met him until now..), and I saw him walk outside to his car (which was some old white and turquoise beat up thing from the 50s) with all his luggage, and I freaked out screaming his name, ran over to him and was like "DONNIE? OH MY GOSH. CAN I HUG YOU??" He was really nice and said "Haha, yeah sure!" so I hugged him and asked where he was going, "On the road for a bit.", "How long?", "Oh, about a week and a half.", "That's not too bad."

Then...his hat somehow fell off while he was putting his stuff in the car and I was like "Oh.........omg........can..... can I touch your hair?" Heh. He let me........it was soft......I remember feeling it..... Then he started asking me if I'd listened to the so-and-so album yet (which I'd never heard of, but assumed it must've been a new album by .38 Special). I said I hadn't but that I was working on it because I'd just bought Van Zant's first two albums and couldn't afford .38's new one yet. He totally understood, but he had to get going so I hugged him again and ran back home (which was a bit of a hassle because our next-door neighbor's front yard was a giant hill).

My uncle Jeff came over while Dad was edging the lawn, and as Donnie drove by and waved at us, Dad yelled "Bye, Dave!!!", while I was rolling my eyes and mumbling, "It's not Dave, it's DONNIE!!!" Then Jeff started shining a huge spotlight at Donnie's face as he drove away (??? I swear my uncle would do something like that) while I was screaming at him to stop, saying how Donnie had a medical condition that made his eyes sensitive, and I just about tackled Jeff to make him put it away.

Then I woke up. At least the Donnie part was over - I usually wake up right smack-dab when something good is about to happen. I relayed all of this to Prancing Paddy whilst shopping for groceries and he cut me off a couple times with this baffled expression, "How do you remember so many details?!??!!"

I'm sharp.
