First-round voting is now open for the CMT Music Awards!!! Van Zant has been nominated Group/Duo Video Of The Year and Breakthrough Video Of The Year for "Help Somebody", please vote for them NOW DANGIT! You have to register with CMT in order to vote, but it's free. I sure hope Van Zant makes it to the final nominees.
I voted for...
Video Of The Year: Gretchen Wilson - "All Jacked Up" Brooks & Dunn - "Believe"
Male Video Of The Year: Keith Urban - "Better Life" Kenny Chesney - "Who You'd Be Today"
Female Video Of The Year: Gretchen Wilson - "All Jacked Up" (I really want Gretchen to win, or I'd have also voted for Sara Evans, Miranda Lambert, and Carrie Underwood)
Group/Duo Video Of The Year: Van Zant - "Help Somebody" (again, there's a couple other videos in this category that I also love, but I don't want to give Johnny and Donnie any more competition by voting for those also. They would be Brooks & Dunn, Little Big Town, and Montgomery Gentry)
Breakthrough Video Of The Year: Van Zant - "Help Somebody"
Collaborative Video Of The Year: Brad Paisley featuring Dolly Parton - "When I Get Where I'm Going"
Hottest Video Of The Year: Keith Urban - "Making Memories Of Us"
Most Inspiring Video Of The Year: Brooks & Dunn - "Believe"
Video Director Of The Year: Deaton Flanigen, Brooks & Dunn - "Believe"
I hope Brooks & Dunn win Video Of The Year - I absolutely love "Believe". It's such a beautiful song, and the video gives it even more meaning. If Van Zant doesn't win Group/Duo Video Of The Year, I hope Brooks & Dunn get that one too. BUT VAN ZANT HAD BETTER WIN. Much as I love "Believe", it just don't beat "Help Somebody".
I heard "Help Somebody" on the radio today for the first time in a while. I'd just gotten out of the shower and then it started. I was so stoked, I was dancing around my room in my underwear with both my stereos on at the same time with the volume all the way up. Surround sound!!! They play "Nobody Gonna Tell Me What To Do" quite a bit (I always seem to turn the radio on during the middle of that song), and I love that song very much, but I've really been missing "Help Somebody"... KISS Country's DJ Darlene Evans seems to play Van Zant more than the other DJs... maybe 'cause she's a girl. Can ya blame her? I'd be playing them a lot too.
Oh and, just some food for thought - Rickey is REALLY. HOT. That's all I have to say.
