It's just past midnight... it's now been exactly a year, to the day, that I fell in love with Rickey Medlocke. I know this because I fell for him the night they aired the Lynyrd Skynyrd Super Bowl Saturday Night Special on CMT last year. It was shown live from Jacksonville, FL, on February 5th - the night before Super Bowl XXXIX!This was the first time I'd seen him "live". I'd only seen him in pictures before then and thought he looked a bit ....nuts. But then I saw him in action and how cool he was, and how hot he was... heh, yeah. I thought he was just awesome on guitar, then they showed clips of him interviewing sailors and other people reguarding the Super Bowl and Lynyrd Skynyrd trivia. He had the warmest, most beautiful Southern drawl and sounded so nice, and it kind of snowballed for me from there. I can't believe it's been a full year. In that time I've fallen in love with the current Lynyrd Skynyrd band (more so than I was before; originally, I only really liked the old band), as well as Rickey's previous band, Blackfoot. Many thanks to my friends, especially A.E., for putting up with my endless rants reguarding his .....attractiveness.  |
