Sometimes they stick and people will never let you forget it!So choose the ones carefully that you plan to keep for a while cause you might not be able to shake the ones you might not be too fond of in the future. As for myself I always say...You can call me what you want as long as you dont call me late for dinner!!hehe...Michael posted by: dustyjumpwings (reply) post date: 01.19.06 (1:56 pm) Reply to: Michael Oh I totally understand that. But it's been 8 or 9 years since I got it, and I'm SO used to it it's like my second name, so I know it wouldn't bother me. I have many other nicknames but this one's my favorite - I know my Dad would stop if I asked him too anyway. And, I agree about dinner..! ;D Mal posted by: (reply) post date: 01.19.06 (2:46 pm) My dad used to call me Lilliputian when I was younger, I like it, I think it's cute. :) Love, ~* Kelly posted by: dustyjumpwings (reply) post date: 01.19.06 (4:43 pm) Reply to: Kelly That is cute!! posted by: (reply) post date: 01.20.06 (8:01 am) My brother used to call me Ribbit, like the noise a frog makes. I hated it but it persisted for 3 years until my Dad told him to cut it out. Now I don't have a nickname but I sure don't miss Ribbit. posted by: (reply) post date: 01.23.06 (1:39 am) T'aint nothing wrong with Moose - beautiful, noble, furry, magnificent creatures that could probably turn nasty if disturbed from going about their Moose-business (just like most humans do really). I see the waitress's point in that it could be taken in an insulting way if heard out of context or didnt know the origins of the nickname. I call DBI by lots of pet names some of which could be interpreted as insults if heard by outsiders (although I'm careful not to do that). Pvt Snafu posted by: dustyjumpwings (reply) post date: 01.23.06 (6:32 am) Reply to: Pvt Snafu Oh I'd understand that too, but how many times must we tell her that I do in fact like it! I have many nicknames for ol' Paddy too, but most of them he hates and I would never call him that in public either! |
