Darrell's still in SICU, but he's doing SO great. There've been many, many complications these past weeks, but he's doing just awesome right now. Breathing on his own, very responsive, smiling and trying to laugh! He would be able to talk, but he has a trach in, so he can't yet.I am so happy. This is the first time he's been this... normal. I mean, like himself. He'd been alert before, but his mind was clouded over with pain and/or sedatives, and he didn't open his eyes much. He sure opens them now! He can't see very well (they put salve in his eyes to keep them from drying out), but he can see that we're there. It's just so awesome to see him smile again! He can even kiss me goodnight now. I am so stoked, I feel like dancin'! DARRELL'S BACK!!!!! I apologize for the lack of postings, but I've either been at the hospital or dealing with that wench Hurricane Wilma. I'm happy to say our house is fine, the roof is fine. We got quite a bit of damage in our backyard (downed trees and fences), but it's almost all back to normal now! That was definitely the most powerful hurricane I've ever been through. And, no electric for 12 days isn't fun... That's all I have to say about that. |

Mal, so glad to hear Darrell is doing much better..will keep praying..
