It didn't quite turn out....right....but I'll try again before Christmas LOL posted by: dangerkitty (reply) post date: 07.13.05 (10:48 am) Sounds absolutelyyummy. Can you ship some my way? posted by: aesav23 (reply) post date: 07.13.05 (10:49 am) P.S. It's "laid out on a cookie sheet", instead of "layed"; and it's "refrigerator" instead of "refridgerator". Feel free to delete this comment. :o) posted by: dustyjumpwings (reply) post date: 07.13.05 (11:48 am) Reply to: dangerkitty It has to be kept frozen, it would be a melted pile of gush by the time it got there :o( posted by: dustyjumpwings (reply) post date: 07.13.05 (11:50 am) Reply to: aesav23 Heh, thanks. I'm endlessly confused by "laid" and "layed", and I KNEW "refridgerator" didn't look right! At least I didn't spell it how I pronounced it as a kid, "fidge-ja-jay-ter"! posted by: dangerkitty (reply) post date: 07.13.05 (4:46 pm) CROTCH!!! P.S. I set BJ straight. CROTCH is property of DaftandDemented. posted by: newbie (reply) post date: 07.13.05 (6:07 pm) Reply to: dangerkitty Okay, sweet!!! TRIUMPH!!! posted by: aesav23 (reply) post date: 07.14.05 (11:44 am) Btw, I made these last night! Only, I didn't read the directions properly, so I made WAY too much of it! Seriously...two whole batches; like 80 crackers worth. Yikes. Anyway, I did keep them in the freezer, and THEY R T3H ROX00RZ!1!!1!11 OMG WTF posted by: newbie (reply) post date: 07.14.05 (10:59 pm) Reply to: aesav23 HAA already?? sweet!!! how is it? I messed up my first batch too - it says "two boxes of Saltines", I guess she meant two sticks of them? posted by: dustyjumpwings (reply) post date: 07.14.05 (11:00 pm) DANGIT it keeps logging me out for some reason... posted by: seagrass (reply) post date: 07.15.05 (4:16 pm) Reply to: dustyjumpwings good stuff ...first recipe I've seen on this site!! Do you listen to Wilco or Son Volt?? Long live southern rock!! posted by: dustyjumpwings (reply) post date: 07.15.05 (4:43 pm) Reply to: seagrass First on Tblog you mean? wow! No, who are they? I've never heard of them!! posted by: seagrass (reply) post date: 07.15.05 (4:52 pm) Reply to: dustyjumpwings OUCH !!! seminal NEW southern rock (they've had tour problems though) My hopes were on Sparklehorse (out of western VA), they even opened for Radiohead but the lead singer had a stroke from a drug over dose. You have Three Doors Down from MS, Uncle Cracker from Memphis, err umm who else?? But wilco is standard fare (Son Volt is a branch band out of Wilco) posted by: dustyjumpwings (reply) post date: 07.15.05 (5:04 pm) Reply to: seagrass OHH no wonder then. I actually don't know many new bands (strange for my age, I know)! I do know Three Doors Down though, they were on a Super Bowl special on CMT with Skynyrd. Sparklehorse sounds very familiar too! posted by: seagrass (reply) post date: 07.15.05 (5:09 pm) Reply to: dustyjumpwings Skynard is royalty posted by: dustyjumpwings (reply) post date: 07.15.05 (5:12 pm) Reply to: seagrass They're my favorite EVER! and Van Zant and 38 Special and Blackfoot. posted by: seagrass (reply) post date: 07.15.05 (5:18 pm) Reply to: dustyjumpwings 38 Special, classic, but you are into my years now...along with the B52s and REM!! I thought Dave Mathhews (1st played at U VA) was southern but it turns out he's fron South Africa! posted by: dustyjumpwings (reply) post date: 07.15.05 (5:20 pm) Reply to: seagrass Oh yeah, I'm not into new stuff, except some country. Also love Marshall Tucker, Charlie Daniels, Molly Hatchet, etc. He's South African? Wow, never knew that! posted by: seagrass (reply) post date: 07.15.05 (5:24 pm) all great, but I like the alternative turn the south took in the 80s...I even drove to Atlanta when I was sixteen (from Louisville) with my cross country team to see the Sex Pistols (though Brits) play the Great Southeastern Ballroom. posted by: dustyjumpwings (reply) post date: 07.15.05 (5:27 pm) Reply to: seagrass I prefer the classic, but 38 Special is pretty 80s. Nowadays their new stuff is much more.....hardcore. Love that too. Are you from Kentucky? posted by: seagrass (reply) post date: 07.15.05 (5:30 pm) Reply to: dustyjumpwings I'm from Louisville, KY but I've been in NYC for the last 15 years or so. Great place to see bands...I like 38 Specials new sound. I just got back from KY. posted by: seagrass (reply) post date: 07.15.05 (5:44 pm) Reply to: dustyjumpwings qualifier: Dave Matthews...he was born in SA, lived in upstate NY then back to VA around 86 (where his parents were from to begin with), so he's one of the boys posted by: Kelly (reply) post date: 07.15.05 (6:54 pm) Mmm... sounds yummy! :) posted by: dustyjumpwings (reply) post date: 07.15.05 (8:22 pm) Reply to: seagrass Ohh okay! I was gonna say, a New Yorker obsessed with Southern rock? a rarity! ;o) Do you have 38's newest album, Drivetrain? awesome awesome stuff. Well in a way, Matthews IS "southern" just... South African! Hey, it works. It's like Ed King, he's from Southern California lol posted by: dustyjumpwings (reply) post date: 07.15.05 (8:22 pm) Reply to: Kelly It is! Now I'm craving it! I've only made it that one time, gonna make it again soon! posted by: Kelly (reply) post date: 07.16.05 (6:01 pm) Reply to: dustyjumpwings Yum! :) - Last year for Christmas, I made macadamian nut cookies, and I'd almost like to make them again this year :) posted by: dustyjumpwings (reply) post date: 07.16.05 (6:25 pm) Reply to: Kelly Ohhhhh, those are some of my FAVORITE!!! posted by: aesav23 (reply) post date: 07.18.05 (4:20 am) Btw, they were really, really EMU!! It wasn't the "two boxes" of Saltines that got me, it was the "box of brown sugar." Because, when you read the directions, you only need one cup. So, then I had ALL this brown-sugar and not enough butter, so I kept adding butter until I had enough to liquify the brown sugar. So, then I had TONS of the stuff, and had to add another cookie sheet worth of Saltines to use it up. Anyway, they were really yummy. My dad said, "Don't make these too often," because they're going to blow all of our diets! And, holy crap! Look at how many comments you had on this one thing! :o) posted by: Kelly (reply) post date: 07.18.05 (8:48 am) Reply to: dustyjumpwings They're one of mine too, they are so yummy! :) posted by: dustyjumpwings (reply) post date: 07.18.05 (1:16 pm) Reply to: aesav23 OHHH the brown sugar. I'll fix that too, I didn't notice it, sorry about that! I also realized that by "two boxes" she must've meant the single-stick boxes, but when I made them, I... didn't take that into account, heh. Well....at least it'll last you for a while! I'm glad your family's enjoying it too LOL I know, there's over 30 now, holy crap! posted by: dustyjumpwings (reply) post date: 07.18.05 (1:19 pm) Reply to: Kelly It probably sounds crazy, but the BEST macadamia-nut cookies I've EVER had were at the cafeteria in Holy Cross Hospital. As you know, we were at that hospital for over a month.. so every day I'd go down there and get some Snapple tea and a couple of those cookies. I even sent some through the mail to my great uncle LOL |
