I don't feel like writing a detailed blog, so here's just a random list of ten things I'm sad about, and ten things I'm glad about.
Ten things I'm down and out about:
1. Dad's in one of those moods where he has to frantically go through everything in the house and throw stuff away. It's really annoying.
2. I'm PMSing really bad. Seriously. I just want to listen to dark music and strangle anything that moves. *puts on Batman Begins soundtrack and starts beating up a lava lamp* .....what? It MOVED.
3. Somebody saw D&D before I wanted them to ;o)
4. Dad left for work yesterday and forgot to lock not only the deadbolt, bu also the NOB on the front door. I. Was. Mad. Locking the door is like... putting your seatbelt on when you get in the car. You just have to be SURE it's done or it feels wrong. He's been forgetting to lock the car doors lately, and kept brushing it off when I got on him for it, but I gave him heck over the phone yesterday and I think it's finally sunk in. Leaving the doors of HIS car unlocked is one thing. But leaving the HOUSE unlocked with me asleep is just unacceptable, especially in this area - what if those burglars who'd tried to break in a few months ago came here then? Just lovely.
5. My feet are cold.
6. We have a guest staying with us - he spent the night and is also staying tonight, which means I can't be on the computer all day long as usual since he's staying in the PC room. *cries*
7. Mr. Spock died!
8. I have SO MUCH email piled up. I know it's a constant gripe from me, it seems. Does it ever end!!
9. I'm out of green tea and my period's about to start. We're also out of cheese! Dammit.
10. I only know three feelings right now: b*tchy, defensive, and crybaby.
Ten things I'm up'n'up about:
1. We might be going to see POTC tonight. Jack will certainly make me feel better!
2. I'm redesigning my website. It's looking so great and I'm just SO stoked about it. I loved my old layout very, very much, but I'd had it for well over two years (maybe three?) and I just needed CHANGE. The new one is going to be dark, very simple, and Skynyrdish. I'll post here when it's done, might be a few days. Until then, it's just a blank intro page - you can't get in the site.
3. I deleted both Hollyweird websites. Have you any idea what a relief that was? It's like a Monty Python 16-ton weight has been removed from my chest.
4. I've been going to bed before 1AM and waking up in the morning. There must be something wrong with me, I'm actually on a schedule. Maybe I should've put this on the first list of ten, I'm not sure if it's a good thing LOL.
5. I got Dad a t-shirt that says "Who's Your Paddy?" Heh. It's perfect. You must know the story of "Prancing Patrick" for that to seem funny at all.....
6. I'm getting into The Who. I always liked some of their songs, but the past few days, I've been OBSESSED with "Won't Get Fooled Again". I first downloaded that song because Van Zant use the beginning synthesized part to open their shows.
7. It seems we've got ALL our friends and relatives saying "CROTCH!". It's awesome! It really is one of my favorite words. And "eunuch", of course. (Cannn't wait to see Jack tonight).
8. I put on my concealer SO good today. I rarely get it looking this good - the pimples are no more than tiny discolorations!! YAY!
9. Kr-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-IPTONI TE!!!!!!!!!!!!
10. I got season 2 of The Dukes Of Hazzard in the mail last week!! Aww, I love Rosco! HOT PURSUIT!
Well howdy everybody! Haven't posted in a while. This one ain't about Israel... I haven't written a regular blog in a long time and there's three things I wanna talk about. A strange dream about spiders, the 4th of July, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.
Spider Dream: --- I had this dream over a week ago. It was so nasty and I could sense in my sleep that I was itching all over from the thought of spiders crawling everywhere, and I was SO relieved when I woke up. As I recalled the entire dream later on though, it became clear how funny it was.
There were......these little black widow shaped spiders taking over my house, but they were bright red, like red ants. Well, they didn't take over the entirehouse, they had just sort of congregated around the door jam of the kitchen. We were freaking out, so we went and spent the night at Darrell's house, but I had seen a picture of Darrell's house and was convinced that he had white spiders and we were only going to another bad place. But we got there and it was okay, and he let us stay in this newly-added loft type thing (which doesn't exist in his actual house), then in the morning, we went home after much discussion and had a truce with the spiders (yes, they could speak). But during the truce... I freaked out again and got fed up with them. I started going after one of them with a stun-gun, but he started running behind the side of the fridge while putting his little arms up and shaking them at me (like he was getting ready for a fight), and he was running sideways like a crab whilst shouting in this tiny, Italian accent, "Oh yeah?? oh YEAH??" He was the only Italian one though. He must've been a thug or something.
I think my stun-gun attack angered all of them, because they all started getting violent again, and I wanted to wake up but couldn't (I knew in the dream that it was a dream, and remember thinking to myself, "I hope I wake up soon..."). I finally did, and the dream had been about bugs, I was all itchy and couldn't stop scratching my back.
The 4th of July: --- Okay, we had the most FUN time. I'll just give a play-by-play of the whole day. Charisma came over around 1pm (she was supposed to be there earlier but her pants weren't dry. I found that extremely amusing!), then we watched The Blues Brothers. We were gonna watch Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl after that, but we only had about an hour before people were going to start coming over. So we put our makeup on, then we started getting the kitchen and some of the food ready. We were acting like retards the entire time, I swear. I only get this way around Charisma! It's like, I'm with her or talk to her on the phone and INSTANT hyperness ensues. Darrell came over early, then Brendan arrived on his motorcycle (I could just hear "Born To Be Wild" playing in the background). Sheila got here not much later, and thought we'd gotten a new dog or something because the moment she walked in the house, I was in the dining room with Charisma laughing and shrieking uncontrollably at something.
Soon after, Charlie, Randy, and then Vicki (a friend of Dad and Randy's from high school) got here. The moment Charlie walked in... I lost it. I don't know what it is with him, I just look at him and can't stop myself from laughing. Not in a mean way, he just cracks me up! He and Dad started beating each other up in the kitchen.. I think they scared Sheila a bit, but she doesn't understand that it's quite normal for them to do this. They usually get in boxing matches in resturaunt parking lots after eating out together. Dad ended up busting Charlie's sunglasses (they were hanging from his shirt - stoopey, I TOLD Charlie to take them off before they started horsing around!). The guys started cooking burgers and hotdogs on the grill, and while they were all out back, Charisma and I snuck in the dining room by ourselves and started making Octodogs. We made five of them and brought them out on a plate, but... they weren't much of a hit. Brendan and Randy started making fun of them and saying how gross they looked... Dangit, I was SO excited about bringing out the Octodogs and they all ...hated them. Charisma and I both had one, then Charlie had one to try to make me feel better (although hesitantly), then Dad had one, but there was one left that sat there all by his lonesome for the rest of the evening. Randy finally ate it later (but I could tell he was doing it to be nice because I had overheard Dad telling him and Charlie how depressed I'd been that nobody liked the Octodogs).
We did a crapload of fireworks after it got dark, that was so much fun. We actually had some really good stuff this year! The past few years, on both the 4th and New Year's, all we'd had were firecrackers, bottle rockets, fountains, and some little lame mortars. This year (Darrell and Randy both pitched in to pay for them), we had some really good stuff! Had some fairly large cakes, and some of the bigger, really pretty and loud mortars. Must've been shooting them off for over an hour!
After the fireworks, the guys went out back and while they were out there talking, Charisma and I were simply sitting across from each other in the living room..... laughing. I mean, I don't know why! We were just staring and laughing at each other, HYSTERICALLY, for at least half an hour, with some random banter in between. Then, I went to use the bathroom and was singing a ZZ Top song or something, and I hear Charisma yelling from the living room, "Do you ALWAYS sing while you're using the bathroom??" Then, a few minutes later... I started getting hysterical again. The reason? On the bottom of the bathroom door next to me... a little spider strolled by. He crawled along the bottom then disappeared into the door jam. He then came wandering back out again long enough for me to kill him, but I started cracking up because it reminded me of the spider dream, and I could just hear him going, "Oh yeah?? oh YEAH??" while he shook his little fists at me...
I forgot to mention, Charisma helped me name the Octodog maker "William". I purposely wanted to name him so that people thought I had completely lost my mind while I was sitting there yelling at "William" to cooperate and cut the danged hotdogs! Heh. But Dad's friends know better...they acted as if it was normal. In fact, Charlie later loaded the dishwasher for me, and he came walking out of the kitchen holding up a little red piece of plastic saying, "Is this part of William?" He acted so non-chalant about it...
Everybody was finally gone at about 1 or 2am (Randy stayed the latest), except for Charisma, who spent the night. We must've been up until at least 3 or 4am. Got up the next day around noon and cooked some of those little frozen pancakes. Now, here's another story of me blowing a gasket laughing. First, Charisma tried opening one of the little bags of pancakes (each one contains three), and the bag EXPLODED and the pancakes landed all over the floor. I had to leave the room to calm down. Then, I started laughing yet again as we were eating, just at Charisma's facial expressions. It's not that her face looks funny or something, it's just... her antics. She's so fun to watch! Then I told her to stop making facial expressions so I could stop laughing before I threw up my food, and she gave me this blank 'expressionless' look that made me laugh even harder.
Later in the day, we watched Batman: The Movie. You know, the one from 1966? OMG. That is one of the most RETARDED movies I've ever seen in my entire life. I absolutely loved it. LOL! The part with the shark repellent, then all the things Batman says.."Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb!".. and the ending? Oh my gosh that was the best. Batman slowly says to Robin, "Lets go...inconspicuously...through the window. We'll use the Batropes.." Just how INCONSPICUOUS is leaving through a window?! We were laughing so hard at this movie, Dad was way out in the back yard and could hear us out there! I was so hysterical at one point that I had to pause the movie and leave the room to take a break. When Charisma left, I went straight to sleep because I was so exausted from laughing (I later found out she did the same thing). I've never laughed so much in my life, I'm surprised I still had a voice.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest: --- Okay, this is going to contain SPOILERS, so DO NOT read any of this part unless you've already seen the movie!! I loved it. I was apprehensive about seeing it at first, because I hadn't been hearing that much good about it, especially from Charisma (although I think she likes it better now *wink*), but since I had low expectations for it and got MUCH more than I thought I'd get, I must say that I enjoyed it very, very much! There were lots of things that irked me slightly, but it didn't make the movie itself bad. ALL the characters seemed a bit... out of character. Jack was quite cowardly (although he redeemed himself at the end by going back to the ship and walking straight into the Kraken's mouth practically, so I forgive him. Plus the fact he was so smokin' HOT and was so flirtatious...dayum!), Will seemed... wooden, Elizabeth was a bit... annoying, and Norrington! as a drunk bent on revenge?? That sooo doesn't seem like something he'd do. He showed he had a good heart at the end of the last POTC by letting Will and Jack go, but now he's blaming Jack for ruining his career and blah blah blah. Strange.... but despite all that, he was actually sorta hot (you can't see past that wig in the first one).
As for the villain, Davy Jones, I didn't like him at first, but he grew on me after a while. His voice was awesome, and I loved it when he was playing the organ with his tentacles. Bootstrap Bill was interesting, although I was a bit disappointed in his reunion with Will. You think they'd have had more to say to each other, like maybe a "Hey...how've you been?". The Kraken, the giant sea monster, was disgusting but cool. I liked Davy Jones' ship very much, The Flying Dutchman. Now THAT was a cool ship. I loved how it came flying up out of the water so violently - awesome!! Jack, on the island with the natives, was HYSTERICAL. I was shrieking laughing it was so funny... he had this pole tied to him... and he was running away screaming... and he ended up falling between two cliffs, but the pole caught on either side and he was still falling, and the rope violently unwined, spinning him in midair with his hair flying all whichways.....
I didn't like the voodoo lady, but oh well. Pintel and Regetti were hilarious, I'm glad they were in it. Oh and, at the very end of the movie? It's one of my favorite parts. You think Jack's dead, but they didn't SHOW him die, and the voodoo lady says that to bring him back, they need a captain who knows the waters. They show a stairway, and then these heavy footsteps come down the stairs, and who is it other than... Captain Barbossa. He takes a bit out of an apple (which, doesn't turn to ash in his mouth), and grins and says, "So tell me.... what has become of my ship?" I'm SO GLAD he's back. I was so happy to see him! He's my favorite villain of all time and plays such an awesome part, I can't wait for the next movie because I know it'll have an awesome story just because he's in it.
Ohhh... and the music. Great horny toads, I LOVE that soundtrack!! I must've listened to the whole thing through at least six times today. I got it a couple days before we saw the movie and didn't like it much at first, but after we saw the movie, it made more sense, so now I love it. Like, when I first listened to the song "Davy Jones", I thought, "What the crap? A big ol' tough pirate... and his theme is a musicbox..?" But now that I've seen the movie, I understand it. I also love that organ theme they always play for him or when the Kraken appears, it's so Dracula-ish. Great soundtrack, I knew Hans Zimmer wouldn't let me down! I find it strange they don't credit Klaus Badelt for the original themes, though... I could go on and on and on about the movie, but I have to cut this off at some point.
I'll leave with three pictures from the 4th of July. Two of me, and one of the plate of Octdogs that we made (it's a bit blurry). I don't think any of the other people I took pictures of want their pictures posted here, so that's why I'm only putting a couple of myself. I rarely like a picture of myself, but I LOVE these two.
